Managing Server Backups

A backup is the cheapest insurance. Do it before every major change.

Creating a backup

1. 1Open the panel, stop the server (Stop) so files are consistent.
2. 2Open the Backup menu, click Create Backup.
3. 3Wait for it to finish, then download a copy to your PC.

Backups are stored on the same server. Still download one copy off-site to survive disk failure.

Restoring a backup

1. 1Stop the server.
2. 2Select the backup and click Restore.
3. 3Start the server and verify the world and plugins.

When a backup is a must

• Before changing the Minecraft version or server.jar.
• Before installing or removing a modpack.
• Before upgrading/downgrading a plan.
