How to Choose the Right Server Plan

RAM size, player count, and modpacks — how to size a plan without overspending or underpowering.

Choosing a plan is about balance: enough for your players, without paying for more than you need.

Quick RAM guidance

  • 2–4 GB — 2–10 players, vanilla or light plugins.
  • 6–8 GB — 10–30 players, moderate plugins.
  • 12–16 GB — 30–60 players or modpacks.
  • 24 GB+ — large communities, heavy modpacks, or many worlds.
These are estimates. Modpacks and many plugins raise RAM needs significantly.

What drives the need

  • Active players — the busier it gets, the more RAM and CPU you need.
  • Modpacks — each mod adds memory overhead.
  • World & chunks — large worlds with many loaded chunks need extra RAM.

Use the calculator

The Game Hosting page has a recommendation calculator. Enter your player count and pick a node, and the system suggests the best-fit plan.

Upgrade any time as you grow — see the Upgrade & Downgrade article.
