Fixing Server Lag

Lag has many faces. Identify the symptom first so the fix fits.

Check TPS in the console

Run /tps. If it's below 20, the problem is the server (not the connection).

Server lag (low TPS)

• Lower view-distance.
• Reduce excess entities (mobs, dropped items).
• Remove unused heavy plugins.
• Schedule regular restarts.

Network lag (high ping)

• Players from far regions will see higher ping.
• Pick the nearest node: Singapore for Southeast Asia.
• Check for DDoS — the panel/status shows abnormal traffic.

Lag can spike when many players join at once. Watch the CPU/RAM graph in the panel.

Still lagging?
